    This course will look at the way Britain's railways were built - at the people, politics and economics behind what happened - at the impact the railways had on so many aspects of British life - and at the way their role has changed in the past century. Issues of technology and engineering will be dealt with where necessary, but the emphasis will be on people! Please note that on-street parking is very restricted if you do not have a blue badge, but there may be space on the drive if you contact the tutor in advance.
