Non-specialist study of important Celtic and Anglo-Saxon manuscripts (600-1100 AD) eg Lindisfarne Gospels, Book of Kells - using photocopies of scripts and illuminations. Hopefully, will include a visit to the University Library to see actual manuscripts. No knowledge of Latin or Anglo-Saxon needed, transcriptions and translations provided. Some historical background given. Colour copies are expensive so sorry to say, there will be a £5 charge per person, payable to the tutor.
