    The course is an exploration of the history of the unique medieval clay tile floor in Prior Crauden's Chapel, Ely, still in situ after nearly 700 years, and includes the relevance of its intricate design and symbolism to the Chapel interior as a whole. Other comparative floors will be referenced together with an investigation into the materials and techniques of the medieval tile maker. the largely unsung artists of their age. The course will culminate with a visit to the Chapel. A modest fee may be required by the Cathedral for access.
