    Weekly
  • Length of course: 1 term. Spring (10 Weeks)
  • Number of places: 16
  • Start date: 11 January 2017
  • Description:

In this course I will show you how I have gathered together 18,000 family photographs to make them generally available to my friends and relations, and to preserve them for future generations. This involves digitising old prints and slides, together with recent digital photos, and organising them into folders on the computer. Then adequate back-ups need to be made. After that the photos can be printed as prints for albums or turned into Photobooks. The latter are claimed to keep images in good condition for 200 years under the appropriate storage conditions. To follow my procedures you will need a basic computer at home with internet access. You should also be computer literate enough to create folders, drag files into them and re-name them. I hope members will then be able to create a calendar or Photobook of their family history as a present for others in their family.
