Great Plays of the 20th Century (LIT 16)

    We will read complete scripts of some of the most significant plays of the 20th century, spending at least two or three weeks on each so that there is plenty of time for discussion. Course members will need to purchase the following collections: Harold Pinter Plays 2 (Faber and Faber) Arthur Miller Plays 1 (Methuen) Tom Stoppard Plays 5 (Faber Contemporary Classics) The Complete Dramatic Works of Samuel Beckett (Faber and Faber) N.B we will be reading only the Pinter and Miller plays in the first term. During the course we will try to arrange trips to productions of plays by the featured playwrights, or other relevant productions. Please note that if you have previously done the Perspectives on Plays course that we will not be reading any of the plays studied there.
