    A series of presentations in five parts, looking at the basic science behind the climate, climate change predictions, and proposals for science based solutions. No relevant scientific knowledge is presumed. The course will start with a session as an overview of the science of climate and climate change, present and future possibilities. Following on will be four further sessions covering each of the areas introduced in the overview. The first of these will cover how the climate works and is generated by earth systems, producing the resultant weather. The next session examines the greenhouse effect, it's causes and the influence of solar radiation and greenhouse gases. The present position, how global warming is thought to have occurred and predictions as to its effects, due to continuing rise in temperatures will be discussed in this fourth session. Finally a look into the future, including proposed geo-engineering solutions, touching on the political, moral and legal aspects.
