This series of lectures, finishing with a visit to Wimpole Estate farm, will look at how soils influence what we do and how we influence soils (for good and bad). We will examine why structure, water content, texture and organic matter are important. This will be in relation to agriculture as well as other areas of influence such as roads, buildings, insurance claims and buried services.
