  • Description:

The group promotes a common interest in the study and enjoyment of plants. Indoor study meetings and illustrated talks are held at approximately 3 week intervals on Monday afternoons in the Autumn and Spring term at Comberton Village Hall. This is followed after Easter by approximately bi/tri-weekly field visits into Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties, from April until September, with a mixture of half day and whole day trips. A detailed programme is issued twice yearly. To pay for speakers' travelling expenses and for donations to Trust sites that we visit, we collect a small voluntary donation at the beginning of the year. Car-sharing is encouraged. Members should acquire guide(s) to the wild flowers (including grasses, sedges & rushes) of the British Isles, recommendations will be made. A good X10 hand lens is also useful. Provisional Dates for 2023/24 are 9 Oct, 30 Oct, 20 Nov, 11 Dec, 15 Jan, 5 Feb, 26 Feb, 18 March.
