Book group 1 reads mainly 20/21st century contemporary fiction and sometimes non-fiction. It is anticipated that each member will choose a book or books during the year and then lead the discussion but this is certainly not obligatory! New and returning members are equally welcome. The book for the first meeting in October is Maggie O'Farrell's " The Marriage Portrait." Please bring suggestions for future reading to the first meeting of the Autumn term so we can plan ahead. The group often continues to meet during the holiday breaks and often starts the week before the official term start date. Note: The course will be held via video-conference (Zoom) throughout the year with perhaps a face-to face open-air meeting occasionally.
