The Economics Discussion Group provides a forum for a discussion of all matters that can broadly, as well as peripherally, be considered 'economic' from the household economy to the global. The discussion can be evidence-based or speculative. It can also be derived from anger, hopelessness, despair, elation and, occasionally, football. We try to avoid party political broadcasts, personalities and character assassination. We are polite, charming and colour co-ordinated. We are often passionate about the objects of our concern but it is a passion derived from concern and empathy rather than operatic excesses. No economic knowledge is required: the group is an opportunity for learning and transformation where questions are as important as critique.
