Pickleball is one of the UK's fastest growing sports. It is normally played in doubles on a badminton court, with a net like a tennis net, and a hollow plastic ball with holes in. The 'paddles' (bats) are like oversized ping pong bats. The game is one of accuracy, tactics and strategy, rather than pure physical force. For the first couple of sessions, we'll begin with an introduction to the different strokes, the rules and scoring system and a general explanation of strategy. Very quickly you will be playing proper games and the later sessions will be open play, perhaps with 10 minutes of drills each time, if members so wish. It would be advisable to bring your own paddle. A few paddles can be borrowed from the sports centre but we cannot guarantee availability. Paddles can be bought at Decathlon in Cambridge or online. There is a suitable beginners paddle as an example HERE
