    Weekly
  • Length of course: 3 terms. Autumn (10 Weeks), Spring (10 Weeks), Summer (9 Weeks)
  • Number of places: 10
  • Start date: 12 October 2016
  • Description:

This class focusses on the learning of an 8 minute sequence (form) of movements. There will be extensive revision of the foundation exercises and first part of this sequence to allow existing students time to recall the set and new students the opportunity to learn the basic movements. There will also be the opportunity for students to progress to the end of the form. These arts, based on the healing, meditative and martial traditions of China are becoming increasingly recognised as ideal practises to enhance health and well-being accessible to all ages. We will work with posture, breath and movement to develop individual exercises and a flowing sequence that can be practised regularly. We will work at a gentle pace, with the emphasis on slow individual development to enable each student to come to their own understanding of these arts. I expect the full course to last over 2 years. No previous experience is required. Please where loose, comfortable clothing and soft shoes. Note dates: 5 Oct-14 Dec (not 19 Oct) 11 Jan-12 Apr (not 5 Apr) 26 Apr-21 Jun (not 24 May) Note: There is an additional fee of £32 to pay for the tutor payable with your application form.
