    The highly influential history, secular and religious, of Cambridge. The influences into/out of Cambridge from/to the Western World. Specifically - monasteries, Renaissance, Reformation, Puritans, Wilberforce [abolition of slavery] and its knock-on effect, Simeon and missionaries. Francis Bacon. Science [Newton, Clerk Maxwell & those involved with discovering the electron, 1st splitting of the atom, the world's 1st computer & DNA. The university/college educational system and relationship. The world's 1st debating society. College visits - Sidney Sussex, Trinity Hall, King's, Magdalene, Jesus, Emmanuel, Pembroke and Queens' - a peep into Trinity College and Corpus Christi. Church visits - Round Church, GSM, St Edward's, Holy Trinity, St Botolph's. Architecture and history of various buildings, eg the Old Divinity School and the Gates of Humility, Virtue and Honour. Town v. gown fights. Statues. Students' pranks - night-climbing on King's Chapel roof. Famous alumni. Sports and societies.
