Visit to Down House (Charles Darwin’s home), Downe, Kent

Dews coach departs:

1. Madingley Road Park and Ride: 8.15 am

2. Trumpington Park and Ride: 8.30 am

Coach departs Down House at 3.45 pm

We will have refreshments on arrival and then a guided tour of the house divided into three groups, the tour lasts 45 minutes to one hour. On the day, colour-coded stickers will be given out whilst on the journey indicating which group and timing.

The café on site is small and it would be appreciated that we visit in small groups. They sell snacks, cakes, coffee/ tea. If the weather is fine picnics can be taken in the garden picnic area. The gardens are free to wander at your leisure.

If you have mobility issues please contact one of the organisers.

Mobility scooters are not advisable on site; doorways are narrow and there is uneven ground in the gardens.

There is a lift to the 1st floor exhibition rooms. Accessible toilet available in patio area from the tea room.

Please note this trip is restricted to 39 people due to coach parking arrangements at the site.
