Trips and Visits

The Social and Cultural Committee organise trips and visits to theatres, museums and places of interest. These are advertised in the Newsletter and Bulletin and are publicised in Bridge Street and also at the Wednesday Lectures. The Committee would be delighted to hear from any member of the U3AC willing to help in arranging visits. The Chairman is Clem Messenger.

Additional trips which have been organised since the last newsletter was produced are advertised in the weekly bulletin

Getting Information

Application forms can be obtained in the following ways

  • from the display area at 27-28 Bridge Street
  • at the Wednesday lecture
  • by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the office with the name of the event in the top left hand corner
  • for a fee of £7 annually (payable in September) members will be sent forms as soon as they are available
  • by email from the Office upon request
  • at the bottom of this website page

NB: when sending form to the organiser you must clearly mark the back of the envelope “U3AC” with the name of the trip. Forms are usually available about 4 weeks before the outing.

All forms must be sent directly to the organiser with payment and SAE or placed in the Collection Box at the U3AC Offices.

It is important that forms are filled in correctly .

In future we are asking members to bring their acceptance slips with them as confirmation of the acceptance of their booking, to avoid any misunderstandings.

Over-subscription

If events are over-subscribed, a draw is held after the closing date. If members are unsuccessful in this and have asked for it, their name will be added to the waiting list and they will be contacted if a vacancy arises; it is helpful to let the organiser know if members subsequently wish to withdraw from the list.

Pick-up Points

We use the Trumpington and Madingley Road Park and Rides regularly as our 2 pick up points, except on Sundays, when we also use Bateman Street.

Non-members

Members are reminded that places on a visit can only be offered to a friend who is not a member if there is no waiting list for a trip. Arrangements must be made through one of the organisers.
